Contemporary meets traditional

Longshot Farm, Derbyshire

Longshot was the family home to a generation of farmers but sadly was in much need of repair. The part of the project we were involved in comprised of the main house and a separate barn, which was to be converted into a dwelling. As with many of our projects, one of the primary goals was to provide much more natural light. With an emphasis on having a contemprary take on windows and doors as part of the initial brief, we designed up large, seamless plate windows and doors that were structural strength glazing. The resulting finish is one that retains the look and feel of farm buildings but in a much more modern style, allowing large amounts of natural light into the interior of both dwellings.
